Florian Julé

Staff Mechanical Engineer - Flight Research at Joby Aviation

Florian Julé has a diverse work experience spanning different roles and companies. Florian is currently working at Joby Aviation as the Lead Engineer for Effectors, where they started in January 2022. Florian also held the position of Lead Engineer for Empennage at Joby Aviation from December 2018. Prior to these roles, Florian was the Lead Engineer for Tilt Nacelles at Joby Aviation from November 2017 to January 2022. Before joining Joby Aviation, they were a Mechanical Engineer at the same company from February 2017 to November 2017.

Florian also worked as a Research Assistant at the University of Michigan from September 2016 to December 2016. Florian had a previous research experience at the same university as a Research Assistant from January 2016 to April 2016.

Additionally, Florian gained industry experience as an Intern in Metal Additive Manufacturing at Altran from May 2016 to August 2016. Florian also worked as an Intern in Organization & Methods at UTC Aerospace Systems from June 2015 to August 2015.

Florian started their career as an Intern in FAL A350 at Airbus from February 2014 to March 2014. During this internship, they worked on the A350 final assembly line, specifically focusing on mechanical installations of the front landing gear and engine pylons.

Florian Julé completed their Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Industrial & Mechanical Engineering from Arts et Métiers ParisTech - École Nationale Supérieure d'Arts et Métiers. Florian then went on to pursue a Master of Science (M.S.) in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Michigan. Prior to this, Florian attended Lycée Déodat de Séverac in Toulouse, where they took Classes Préparatoires aux Grandes Ecoles PTSI/PT* from 2011 to 2013. Florian completed their secondary education at Lycée Rive Gauche in Toulouse, earning a Baccalauréat scientifique in 2011.
