Staff Human Factors Engineer at Joby Aviation

Igor Dolgov, Ph.D. has a diverse work experience across various organizations and roles. Starting in 2006, they worked as an NSF IGERT Fellow at Arizona State University. In 2009, they joined New Mexico State University as an Assistant Professor, later becoming an Associate Professor with Tenure. During their time at the university, they also served as the Head of Perception, Action, and Cognition in the Mediated, Artificial and Natural Environments (PACMANe) laboratory and held a research lead position in the Physical Science Laboratory's 21st Century Aerospace division.

In 2010, Igor joined McGraw-Hill Higher Education as a National Digital Faculty Consultant, a role they held until 2018. In 2019, they transitioned to Uber, where they worked as a Lead Human Factors Engineer until 2021. Currently, they are a Staff Human Factors Engineer at Joby Aviation, focusing on human factors aspects of the flight deck and cabin and leading the Human Factors Engineering (HFE) efforts for Joby's air-taxi products group.

Igor Dolgov, Ph.D. completed their education with a strong emphasis on interdisciplinary subjects. Igor obtained their Bachelor of Science in Engineering (B.S.E.) degree in Computer Science, with a certificate in Robotics and Intelligent Systems, from Princeton University in the years 1999 to 2003. Following this, they pursued a Master's degree in Experimental Psychology at Arizona State University from 2003 to 2005. Finally, Igor Dolgov earned their Ph.D. in Psychology, specializing in the field of Arts, Media, and Engineering, from Arizona State University during the period of 2005 to 2009.
