Kelly Byron

Kelly Byron is a Senior Electrical Engineer at Joby Aviation since May 2025, following a tenure as Component Engineering Team Lead and Senior Electrical Engineer at Illumina from June 2019 to May 2025. At Illumina, responsibilities included providing technical feedback and conducting failure analysis on hardware design changes, as well as streamlining component qualification processes. Previous experience includes serving as a Graduate Research Assistant at Stanford University from January 2012 to March 2019, where research focused on wireless power transfer systems for MRI applications. Kelly also held various internships that contributed to expertise in wireless communication and medical device projects. Kelly holds a PhD and MS in Electrical Engineering from Stanford University and a BS in Electrical Engineering from the University of Southern California.
