Mike Scanlon

Mike Scanlon has a diverse work experience that spans across various industries. Mike is currently working at Joby Aviation as a Defense Program Manager, Technical Partnerships. Prior to that, they worked at the Chan Zuckerberg Initiative as a Project Manager, Special Projects, where they supported the CEO's Chief of Staff and was responsible for setting and managing key priorities across the organization.

Before joining the Chan Zuckerberg Initiative, Mike worked at Facebook, first as a Privacy Program Manager, Product, and then as an Operations Program Manager, Infrastructure. In these roles, they managed privacy programs and contributed to the development of infrastructure projects.

Mike also has experience in the military, having served in the US Navy. Mike held various roles, including Instructor Pilot and Detachment Assistant Officer in Charge. During their time in the Navy, they managed contracts, developed training programs, and demonstrated strong leadership skills.

In addition, Mike started their career as a Student Naval Aviator, where they earned their FAA commercial pilot license and instrument rating in both fixed-wing and rotary-wing aircraft.

Mike Scanlon received their Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in History from the United States Naval Academy in 2008. Following that, they pursued their Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree from the University of Florida - Warrington College of Business, completing it between 2014 and 2016. In terms of additional certifications, Mike obtained a Commercial Pilot certification from the Federal Aviation Administration in March 2010. Mike became a Project Management Professional (PMP) certified by the Project Management Institute in March 2017. Most recently, in August 2022, Mike obtained the Prosci Certified Change Practitioner certification from Prosci.
