Mike Thompson

Mike Thompson has a diverse work experience spanning various industries and roles. Mike worked as a Staff Manufacturing Test Engineer at Joby Aviation starting in 2022. Prior to that, they served as a Staff System Integration Engineer at Tesla from 2021 to 2022, where they were responsible for integrating and testing new features and sustaining issues in vehicles and chargers. Before Tesla, Mike was a Senior Quality Engineer, EV Advocate, and Embedded Software Engineer at Chargepoint from 2012 to 2020, focusing on integration and testing of hardware and software for electric vehicle charging systems. Mike also worked as a Renewables and Electric Vehicle Advocate, Consultant at Air Breather from 1999 to 2020, where they were involved in city initiatives and advised consumers on renewables and electric vehicles. Mike's early experience includes roles as a Director of EV Charging and Board Member at San Francisco BayLEAFs from 2014 to 2018, a Technical Product Manager and Senior Software Engineer at Calyx Software from 2003 to 2011, a Senior Consulting Engineer at Migration Software Systems from 1996 to 2003, a Senior Software Engineer at Adobe in 1996, and a Software Architect at KLA-Tencor in 1995. Mike Thompson obtained their Master of Engineering (M.Eng.) degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Cornell University, where they pursued their education from 1980 to 1985. Apart from their formal education, they also obtained a certification in Learning Python from LinkedIn, which they achieved in June 2020.
