Swaminathan Ramanathan has extensive work experience in various engineering roles. Swaminathan is currently working at Joby Aviation as the Motor Control Lead, a position they have held since June 2021. Prior to that, they worked at Texas Instruments from 2012 to 2021, where they held multiple roles including Systems Applications for High Voltage Controllers, Application Engineer, Validation Engineer, and Engineer. From 2008 to 2012, they were a Partner at Power and Control Design. Before that, they worked at Delta Tau Data Systems Inc. from 2000 to 2008 as an Engineer. Swaminathan also served as the Chief Engineer at PMAC Japan Co. Ltd. from 1998 to 2000 and worked as an Engineer at Delta Tau Data Systems Inc. from 1996 to 1998.
Swaminathan Ramanathan began their education in 1986 at Kendriya Vidyalaya, where they completed their high school education. Swaminathan then attended KVIIT Madras from 1986 to 1990, where they obtained their High School diploma. Continuing their academic journey, they enrolled at the University of Madras from 1990 to 1994, where they earned a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering. During the same period, they also attended Sri Venkateswara College of Engineering, where they pursued another Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering. Following this, they pursued a Master's degree in Manufacturing Engineering/Applied Statistics at Bowling Green State University from 1994 to 1996.
