Powertrain Mechanical Engineer at Joby Aviation

Tom Cojocar has a diverse work experience in various engineering roles. Tom started their career at Flex as a Validation/Test Engineer. Subsequently, they worked at Waterloo Rocketry as a Propulsion Development Engineer and later became an Airframe Project Lead. Following that, they joined ANSYS, Inc. twice, first as an FEA/CFD Software Developer and then as an Advanced Manufacturing Engineer at Apple. Tom also worked at WatLock as a Mechanical Design Co-Lead for the Mars Airlock Student Design Team. Tom gained experience in CAE Analysis at Tesla and in Mechanical Design Engineering at Northvolt. Currently, they are employed at Joby Aviation as a Powertrain Mechanical Engineer.

Tom Cojocar pursued a Bachelor of Applied Science - BASc degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Waterloo from 2017 to 2023. In August 2020, they obtained a Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification from The Council for Six Sigma Certification (CSSC).
