Jani Kaasinen

Jani Kaasinen is an experienced education and welfare professional currently serving as Head of Welfare Industry at the City of Joensuu since June 2018, with previous roles including Education and Youth Director and Welfare Development Director. Jani has a robust academic background, holding a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Education with a focus on Technology Education from the University of Eastern Finland. Prior to working for the City of Joensuu, Jani was a Senior Lecturer at the University of Eastern Finland, teaching in the field of technology education and supervising student teaching practices. Additional teaching experience includes roles as a classroom and craft teacher in various municipalities. Jani's educational qualifications include a Master’s Degree in Education from Joensuu University and a brief study at the University of Turku.
