Cory Reed is President, Agriculture & Turf Division for Production & Precision Ag, and also is responsible for the North and South American and Australian markets. In this role, Cory leads a team that develops and delivers equipment solutions providing value for production-scale grain, cotton, and sugar growers. He was appointed to the role in June 2020.
A lawyer right out of college, Cory has spent the past two decades focused on farmers and ranchers, understanding their needs and helping them increase their productivity and profitability. Prior to his current role, he served as the Ag & Turf president responsible for the crop care, crop harvesting, and turf and utility businesses, as well as the North and South American and Australian markets.
Prior leadership assignments included President, John Deere Financial; Senior Vice President, Intelligent Solutions Group; Senior Vice President, Global Marketing Services; marketing manager for large tractors; branch and region sales manager roles in Europe; and division and territory manager roles in the U.S. He joined Deere in 1998.
As a leader, Cory has helped lay the foundation for John Deere's current precision-farming platform. His team's work maximized the farmer benefit of coupling data-driven decisions with Deere's industry-leading equipment. In 2019, under Cory's leadership, the company's big R4038 Self-Propelled Sprayer was recognized as the “Best at CES (Consumer Electronics Show) – Sustainability Award” by tech media.
Cory has also been a strong advocate for the ag industry globally. He has served on the board for the Global Harvest Initiative and he sits on the board for the National FFA Foundation and America's Cultivation Corridor.
He graduated from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio, with a bachelor's degree in finance. He received a Juris Doctor degree from Ohio State University College of Law.
