John Howie is an accomplished chef and proprietor with extensive experience in the culinary industry. Since September 2009, John Howie has been the Chef and Proprietor of John Howie Steak. Additionally, John Howie holds the position of Seastar Chef and Owner at the Pan Pacific Hotel Seattle and has served as Chef/Owner of Seastar Restaurant & Raw Bar since December 2001. Prior to these roles, John Howie was the Senior Executive Chef at Restaurants Unlimited from February 1988 to December 2001. John Howie's culinary education was pursued at Bellevue College.

The Pacific Northwest's Premier Chef Owned Steak House. Offering a five tier steak program, with both live fired Mesquite and Applewood grills. Fresh house baked breads and desserts. Tableside offerings include both Caesar and Spinach Salads. Fresh local seafood and side dishes with a season menu. A wide variety of specialty and classic cocktails, amde with seasonal ingredients. We offer the Eastside's largest selection of Single Malt Scotch, Bourbons and Cognacs. Personal, temperature controlled, wine lockers. An EnoMatic wine dispensing system. And a Wine Spectator "Best of Award of Excellence,"​ one of only three on the Eastside. Our seasoned management team provides unrivaled hospitality and service. We are open Monday-Friday for lunch from 11:00am - 2:30pm. Dinner Monday 5:00pm - 9:00pm, Tuesday - Friday 5:00pm - 10:00pm, Saturday 4:30pm - 10:00pm, and Sunday 4:30pm - 9:00pm. The bar is open Monday 11:00am - 10:00pm, Tuesday - Friday 11:00am - 11:00pm, Saturday 3:00pm - 11:00pm, and Sunday 3:00pm - 10:00pm. Happy Hour Monday - Sunday 3:00pm - 6:00pm. And Late Night Happy Hour Tuesday - Saturday 9:00pm - 11:00pm. No Late Night Happy Hour on Sunday and Monday. Happy Hour not available Christmas Eve, New Year's Eve, Valentine's Day, Mother's Day and Father's Day.
