Andrew Engel

Chief Horticulturalist at John Mini Distinctive Landscapes

Andrew Engel has extensive work experience in the horticultural industry and international relations. Andrew started working as an Advisor at the Permanent Mission of the Republic of Fiji to the United Nations in 2009 and continued in this role until 2011. In 2012, they joined John Mini Distinctive Landscapes as an Account Manager - Senior Horticulturalist and later served as a Regional Account Manager. Andrew is currently working as the Chief Horticulturalist at the same company. From 2016 to 2018, Andrew worked as the Lead Horticulturalist at The Lowline.

Andrew Engel has a Master's degree in Horticulture from the Royal Horticultural Society, which they obtained from 2017 to 2021. Prior to that, they earned a Master of Science degree in Diplomacy and International Relations from Seton Hall University from 2008 to 2010. Andrew also holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Diplomacy and International Relations from Seton Hall University, which they completed from 2004 to 2007. In addition to their degrees, they have obtained multiple certifications, including the Green Roof Professional (GRP) certification from Green Roofs for Healthy Cities in 2023, and the Plant Science Certificate from BASF in 2023. Andrew has also obtained other certifications such as the Applicator Cat 3C certification from the NYS Department of Environmental Conservation in 2022, and the Certificate in Root Zone Management from Michigan State University in 2022.
