Wuleta Betemariam

Director, Center for Healthy Women, Children & Communities at JSI

Wuleta Betemariam has more than 20 years of experience leading public health programs globally and was JSI’s country representative in Ethiopia and director of the Last Ten Kilometers project. Before JSI, as deputy director of Engender Health’s Program Division in New York, Wuleta established the organization’s presence in Ethiopia, a program in Sudan, and was the director for two countries. She was also a technical advisor for USAID’s Population, Health, and Nutrition Office, where she focused on reproductive health. Wuleta has an MPH in public health and policy from the University of Michigan and is in her final year of a DrPH program in public health leadership at the University of Illinois.
