Loren Sanborn

Senior Advisor, Client & Resident Relations at John Stewart Company

Ms. Sanborn began her career in community organizing with the Tenderloin Senior Outreach Project. She joined the John Stewart Company in 1981 and held her first position with the Company in Senior Services. From there she rose through the organization holding property management positions rising to Vice President of the Bay Area region from 1994 through 2015.

She has provided marketing, management and consulting services to both non-profit sponsors and private sector investors in a variety of housing programs, including HUD, FNMA, HCD, RHCP, Low Income Housing Tax Credit, Public Housing, market rate, cooperative, CID and most recently Rental Assistance Demonstration (RAD).

Ms. Sanborn’s career is driven by principles of integrity and service. She was instrumental in the portfolio growth in her region (13,000 plus units) and for the development of strong and long-term Property Management and Compliance teams. She led the residential marketing, leasing and management program development for the Company at Villages at Treasure Island, 578 units in 1999 and Presidio Residences, 1150 units in 1998.

Ms. Sanborn has transitioned to a role in Client Services and Resident Relations and provides support as needed to the management team.

Ms. Sanborn received a Bachelor’s Degree in Public Health from San Jose State University and has been a member of the California Association of Homes for the Aging and the American Society on Aging. She has served as a Board Member and officer of the Affordable Housing Management Association of Northern California, Nevada and Hawaii, Planning for Elders in the Central City, Bethany Center, and currently serves on the Board of the Tenderloin Neighborhood Development Corporation (since 2007).
