Christopher Bowen

District STEM Curriculum Specialist at Johnson City Schools (TN)

Christopher Bowen, Ph.D., serves as the District STEM Curriculum Specialist and Middle School Educator for Johnson City Schools in Tennessee since August 2004, where contributions include curriculum development and mentoring. In addition, Christopher has been an Affiliate Graduate Professor at East Tennessee State University since August 2009, teaching various graduate and undergraduate courses in science education. As an edTPA scorer for Pearson since April 2013, Christopher also acted as a TNCore Science Coach for the State of Tennessee from 2013 to 2015, focusing on the implementation of Common Core Science Standards. Earlier experience includes serving as a Computer Application Instructor at New Horizons Computer Learning Centers from 2000 to 2004. Christopher holds a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Education from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, obtained between 2014 and 2017, and a Master’s degree in K-8 Education and Teaching from East Tennessee State University (2001-2004).
