Bie Verbist

Bie Verbist is a highly experienced professional in biostatistics and oncology, currently serving as the Scientific Director of Biostatistics Oncology at Johnson & Johnson since April 2014. Bie leads a global statistics team focused on various aspects of oncology discovery, including experimental design and high-dimensional data analysis. Prior roles at Johnson & Johnson include Associate Director and Principal Biostatistician, where responsibilities encompassed statistical analysis for oncology discovery, mentorship, and enhancing decision-making through data science solutions. Bie’s academic background includes a PhD in Statistical Data Analysis from Ghent University and a PhD in Medicinal Chemistry from KU Leuven, complemented by a Master’s in Chemistry. Prior to the current role, Bie contributed to research at Ghent University, focusing on statistical algorithms and data normalization methods.
