Melissa Bilyeu

Melissa Bilyeu, MSA, currently serves as English Faculty at Johnston County Public Schools, a position held since August 2022. Previously, Bilyeu worked as English Faculty within the Wake County Public School System from September 2014 to September 2021, where responsibilities included an administrative internship, teaching AP English Language & Composition, and leading initiatives such as the School Improvement Team and athletic tutoring programs. Bilyeu’s earlier experience at Johnston County Public Schools from 2005 to 2014 involved leadership as Freshman Academy Lead Teacher and contributions to the School Improvement Team. Prior professional roles included positions in marketing and communications at MetaMetrics, HowStuffWorks.com, and IBM, where collaborative marketing and technical writing tasks were executed. Bilyeu holds a Master of School Administration in Educational Leadership from East Carolina University and multiple degrees in English from North Carolina State University, including a Secondary English Teaching Certification.
