Reno Palombit has a strong background in career and technical education. Reno started their career as a Culinary Arts Instructor at Pulaski County Public Schools, where they developed curriculum and managed a commercial restaurant facility. Reno then worked as a Family and Consumer Sciences Teacher at Wake County Public School System, where they delivered lesson plans and coordinated cooperative education programs.
After that, Reno Palombit served as a Family & Consumer Sciences Education Consultant at the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction and later as a CTE Instructional Specialist at Wake County Public School System. In these roles, they provided instructional support and coordinated staff development programs.
Reno Palombit then joined Family, Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA), where they served on the Board of Directors in various positions, including Vice Chair and Chair. In this role, they were involved in strategic planning, facilitating industry partnerships, and navigating the impacts of COVID-19 on the organization.
Currently, Reno Palombit is the Director of Career & Technical Education at Johnston County Public Schools. In this role, they plan and coordinates curriculum, personnel, and facilities for all Career and Technical Education fields within the schools. Reno also develops partnerships with businesses and organizations and supports career development across the school district.
Reno Palombit obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Consumer & Family Studies Education from Johnson & Wales University from 2004 to 2008. Later, from 2009 to 2011, they pursued their Master of Science degree in Career & Technical Education from Virginia Tech. Reno further enhanced their qualifications by obtaining certifications such as Educator, Family & Consumer Sciences (6-12), Career & Technical Education Director from the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction in June 2016, and National Board Certified Teacher (NBCT) from the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards in 2013.
