Alex Gogan

Alex Gogan is the VP of Engineering at Sherpa, a company that helps developers manage structured data, make interoperable applications, and allows their users to take back control of their data. Prior to joining Sherpa, Alex was the Head of Backend and Co-founder at Source Inc., where they created a solid software architecture for the entire application system. Alex also developed web-based Frontend clients to be integrated into complex application environments.

Before their work at Source Inc., Alex was a Research Assistant at the University of Waterloo, where they created scalable RESTful and GraphQL APIs for the semantic web and applied core principles of DevOps for Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery. Alex also administered and maintained cloud-based solutions.

Alex has a passion for creating software that is user-friendly and efficient. Alex is always looking for ways to improve the software development process and make it more efficient.

Alex Gogan has a Master’s Degree in Master of Business, Entrepreneurship and Technology from the University of Waterloo. They also have a Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Advanced Computing from the University of Stirling. For their Bachelor of Engineering (B.Eng.), they studied Wirtschaftsinformatik at the Hochschule Esslingen - University of Applied Sciences. They are also certified in Q-Das Six Sigma Green Belt from Q-DAS Inc.
