Juan Carlos Garcia

Juan Carlos Garcia, DBA, is an accomplished leader with extensive experience in military operations, academia, and business management. Currently serving as Reserve Division Chief and USAR Desk Officer at The Joint Staff since August 2021, Juan holds adjunct faculty positions at the Joint Special Operations University and the University of South Florida Muma College of Business. Previously, Juan commanded the 14th Psychological Operations Battalion and served as Future Plans Officer for the 7th Psychological Operations Group. Juan's military career includes key roles at United States Central Command, where responsibilities encompassed strategic planning and information operations. Additionally, Juan has a solid background in financial management as Senior Manager at Marriott International, overseeing operations across multiple regions. Juan holds a Doctor of Business Administration from the University of South Florida and multiple advanced degrees in finance, international relations, and industrial engineering.

USSOCOM's "Think-Do Tank" Center for Special Operations Thinking. WE SHARPEN THE EDGE OF SOF’S ADVANTAGE: THE NEXT-GENERATION SOF PROFESSIONAL. The Joint Special Operations University (JSOU) provides education to Special Operations Forces (SOF) and to people who enable the SOF mission in a joint environment. In addition to the regular courses taught at MacDill Air Force Base (AFB), JSOU routinely conducts both regular and tailored off-station activities for SOF units worldwide by means of remote or on-site instruction, DL courses, and via video tele-instruction (VTI). Vision USSOCOM's "Think-Do Tank" - Center for Special Operations Thinking. Mission JSOU prepares SOF professionals to address strategic and operational challenges, arming them with the ability to think through problems with knowledge, insight, and foresight.
