Kirk Goehring

Kirk Goehring is the Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer at Jones Energy. Kirk has been with the company since December of 2018 and in their current position since January of 2020. Prior to that, they served as the Vice President of Strategy.

In their current role, Kirk is responsible for directing all aspects of strategy and operations across Jones Energy's portfolio of 600+ operated wells and 140k net acres in the Anadarko Basin. This includes overseeing a team of 50+ employees with 10 direct reports across all functions, such as production, D&C, geology, land, marketing, reserves, and IT.

During their time with the company, Kirk has initiated a pad co-development strategy in the Merge play, developed the four well “Phoenix” Meramec pad, and executed a five-well Marmaton development program in Ochiltree County, TX. Kirk has also been instrumental in corporate transactions such as liability management, borrowing base formation, and the ultimate cash sale.

Kirk's accomplishments have been recognized by their peers; they were named to Oil and Gas Investor's “40 Under 40” list in 2019.

Kirk Goehring completed their undergraduate degree at the Texas McCombs School of Business, where they majored in business and participated in the business honors program. Kirk then attended the Landon School for their post-graduate studies. Currently, they are enrolled at The Potomac School.
