Job Description

 The Sales Manager will provide solutions that meet Jord’s customer’s needs whilst meeting sales, margin and new customer targets.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop and grow Jord’s client base for the Resources Business Unit throughout the Americas
  • Meet and exceed set sales targets for the Resources Business Unit throughout the Americas
  • Develop long-term relationships with clients through managing and interpreting their requirements
  • Persuade clients that Jord’s product offering best satisfies their needs in terms of quality, price and delivery
  • Calculating client quotations and administering client accounts
  • Negotiating tender and contract terms and conditions to meet both client and company needs
  • Collaborate with the proposals team and relevant technology manager to accurately size, estimate, design and sell process equipment
  • Review client specifications and requirements and complete bids and proposals that meet client needs
  • Preparation of cost estimates in line with the company’s technical and commercial requirements
  • Preparation of technical and commercial bid evaluations and clarification responses
  • Use and maintenance of the company’s contract quotation databases and quote management systems
  • Adhere to all Jord company policies and IMS requirements

  

Skills and Experience:

  • At least five years of professional experience in Business Development in the mining or mineral processing industries
  • A strong network of existing clients within EPC companies and mining end users
  • Proven experience in capital equipment sales, particularly for solids/liquid separation and/or flotation and/or related process equipment and/or mine tailings processing/handling/management is highly regarded.
  • Detailed understanding of the beneficiation (and refining**) of copper, gold, lithium**, nickel, potash rare earths** is highly regarded
  • Alternatively, a background in technical sales to the mineral processing industries such as chemicals or consumables/wear parts for related filters/flotation equipment may be considered
  • Degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering
  • Proven track record in developing and growing long-term relationships across relevant industries
  • A proactive and positive attitude focused on the development of the Company’s business
  • A degree of flexibility and mobility, i.e. preparedness to work outside of hours to accommodate time zones given the international nature of Jord’s business; interstate & international travel, occasionally to site.
  • Strong written and spoken communication skills with a proven ability to sell, negotiate and win business.
