Heather Lindfors

Scientist II, Plant Microbe Interactions at Joyn Bio

Heather Lindfors has a long and varied work experience. Heather began their career in 1991 as a Specialist/Supervisor, Foreclosures and Bankruptcy Loans for First Union Mortgage Corporation. In 1999, they worked as a Biological Technician for the National Park Service, designing and implementing a solution for foot traffic-induced damage to a sensitive ridge habitat. From 2000-2014, they worked as a Staff Research Associate IV and III at UC Davis, managing a biomedical engineering laboratory and a molecular genetics laboratory. In 2014, they joined Bayer Crop Science as a Researcher in the Emerging Technologies Program, developing novel foliar spray formulations and application techniques. Most recently, they have been a Scientist II, Plant Microbe Interactions at Joyn Bio since 2019, building and continuously improving a high-throughput platform to evaluate in planta colonization of chassis candidates and engineered strains coming from DBT cycles.

Heather Lindfors received their Bachelor of Science (BS) in Biology from Appalachian State University between 1995 and 1999. Heather then attended the University of California, Davis for ongoing professional training and education from 2000 to 2011.
