Moritz Helm has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and industries. Moritz started their career in 2007 with a summer internship in the Equity Capital Markets division at UniCredit. In 2008, they had internships at the Centre for European Economic Research (ZEW) and the European Central Bank, where they worked in divisions related to international finance and risk management.
From 2013 to 2014, Moritz served as a Teaching Assistant at University College London. Moritz then joined NERA Economic Consulting in 2014 as an Economic Analyst before being promoted to Senior Econometrician in 2016. Moritz worked there until 2017.
In 2018, Moritz Helm started working at Joyn GmbH as a Data Scientist, where they held the position until September 2019. Moritz was then promoted to Senior Data Scientist and continued their role with the company.
Moritz Helm obtained a Diploma in Economics (Diplom-Volkswirt) from Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München, which they pursued from 2003 to 2008. Moritz then went on to pursue a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Economics at the European University Institute from 2009 to 2015. During their doctoral studies, Moritz Helm had the opportunity to be a Visiting Scholar at New York University for a year in 2011, where they continued their research in economics. Moritz also spent a year as a Visiting Scholar at the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2006-2007, further broadening their knowledge in economics. Additionally, Moritz Helm obtained three certifications in the field of programming and machine learning. Moritz completed the courses "Functional Program Design in Scala" and "Functional Programming Principles in Scala" from Coursera in 2018 and 2017 respectively. In 2016, they obtained another certification, "Machine Learning: Regression," from Coursera Course Certificates.
