Janaki Kumar

Janaki Kumar is an accomplished design and innovation leader with extensive experience in various high-profile roles. Currently serving as a Founding Member at the Design Executive Council since September 2024 and as Managing Director and Chief Design Officer at JPMorgan Chase & Co. since June 2018, Janaki has a robust background in user experience and design thinking. Previous positions include Co-Instructor for the Customer Experience Design course at Stanford University's Graduate School of Business, and multiple leadership roles at SAP, including VP of Design Evangelism and Senior Director of User Experience. Janaki's career began with significant contributions as a software engineer at Fannie Mae and Bank of Boston, complemented by a strong educational foundation with degrees from Stanford University, Boston University, and Madurai Kamaraj University.
