With more than 20 years of experience as a journalist and media relations professional, Darrin is committed to helping JSA clients build their brands through innovative, engaging and effective storytelling. His goal as a communicator is to refine complex information into compelling messaging strategies that resonate with the target audience and get results.

Darrin started his media career as an obituary writer for The Evansville (Ind.) Courier before attending Marquette University in Milwaukee, Wis., where he earned a bachelor’s degree in journalism. He later served as a reporter and editor for a string of community newspapers in Southeast Wisconsin, then joined Business Development Directives, a Milwaukee-based marketing research and communications agency whose clients included IEEE, the world’s largest organization for technology professionals.

Prior to joining JSA, Darrin served as media relations manager for the College of Agriculture at Purdue University. At Purdue, Darrin helped generate unprecedented national coverage in such prominent outlets as Reuters, The Washington Post and CNBC by establishing Purdue researchers as go-to subject matter experts in agricultural science, technology and economics.

At JSA, Darrin’s responsibilities include drafting news releases, email campaigns, case studies and bylined articles, as well as monitoring industry news, brainstorming creative media strategies and cultivating critical relationships with key media contacts to ensure JSA clients are receiving relevant, positive coverage.

Darrin and his wife live in the Indianapolis area and enjoy traveling, often to visit family and friends in Japan.
