Jayvant Parshotam

Jayvant Parshotam has extensive work experience in the field of architecture, particularly in enterprise architecture. Jayvant has held various roles in different organizations, starting with Shell SA where they worked as an Application Support Manager. At Shell SA, they were responsible for managing the HR application portfolio, providing support for the Peoplesoft HR and payroll environment, managing the data warehouse application portfolio, and handling projects within the HR and data-warehouse portfolios.

After their time at Shell SA, Jayvant joined Vodacom as a Technology Architect, where they worked from 2002 to 2006.

Jayvant'snext role was at MTN Group, where they worked as an Enterprise Application Architect. In this role, they were responsible for developing enterprise application standards and guidelines for the MTN Group companies, managing relationships with strategic vendors, negotiating contracts, and establishing an operational framework for MTN Group IS Services. Jayvant also played a key role in the development of enterprise applications architecture for the group and led various strategic initiatives such as the establishment of the MTN Group's inter-operation network, the rollout of business intelligence solutions, and the centralization of HR admin services.

Jayvant then moved to Standard Bank Group, where they held multiple positions including Lead Architect and Enterprise Architect. During their time at Standard Bank Group, they worked on various projects and played a key role in the architecture and development of core banking systems.

Most recently, Jayvant worked at saudidigitalbank as a Principal Enterprise Architect, before joining JSE as the Group Head of Architecture in 2023.

Jayvant Parshotam earned a Bachelor of Science in Electronic Engineering from the University of Cape Town, where they studied from 1997 to 2000. Following that, they pursued a Bachelor of Arts with Honors in Business Administration at Stellenbosch University in 2001. In 2002, Jayvant Parshotam attended Stellenbosch University again, where they obtained a Master of Business Administration.

In addition to their academic qualifications, Jayvant Parshotam has obtained several certifications. Jayvant became a MuleSoft Certified Platform Architect-Level 1 through MuleSoft in August 2022. In November 2021, they obtained the AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate certification from Amazon Web Services (AWS). Jayvant Parshotam also holds the Microsoft Certified: Azure Fundamentals certification from Microsoft, which they obtained in October 2020. Furthermore, they became a SAFe Agilist through Scaled Agile, Inc. in December 2016. In the same year, they received two certifications from IBM: the Application Security Analyst - Mastery Award for Professionals and the Application Security Specialist Mastery Award. Additionally, Jayvant Parshotam holds the AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner certification obtained in September 2019.
