Mark Reilly joined Jumpstart in 2013 and leads its policy advocacy initiatives as Vice President of Policy & Government Relations. Mark is passionate about ensuring that all children have access to high-quality early education delivered by well-trained and well-compensated professionals. Mark previously served as Jumpstart’s Northeast Executive Director and as a Regional Vice President, leading fundraising and managing the delivery of Jumpstart programming in the region.
Prior to joining Jumpstart, Mark served as Chief Legal Counsel to Massachusetts Governor Deval Patrick, providing legal, policy, and communications advice to the Governor, Lt. Governor, and Cabinet Secretaries as a member of the Governor’s senior staff. Mark was a litigator in private practice before joining the Governor’s administration and previously served as a law clerk to United States District Court Chief Judge William G. Young. Mark’s career in public service began in California as an AmeriCorps*VISTA member at a youth services organization providing educational and recreational programming for children in South Central and East L.A.
Mark graduated with a political science degree from Davidson College and obtained his law degree from Boston College Law School. Mark lives with his wife and three children in Dedham, Massachusetts, where Mark is an elected Town Meeting member and serves as President of the Dedham Education Foundation.
