Manuel D.

Manuel D. is an experienced professional with a solid background in toxicology and regulatory safety across various sectors, including pharmaceuticals and agriculture. Currently serving as the Director of Reduced Risk Products Regulatory Testing at JTI since November 2017, Manuel D. oversees regulatory safety studies and risk assessments related to vapor chemistry and clinical trials. Prior to JTI, significant roles included Head of Toxicology and Health Sciences at Syngenta, where efforts led to the approval of the key crop protection chemical Emamectin in Brazil, and Senior Scientific Officer at the European Chemicals Agency focusing on safety evaluations under EU regulations. Earlier, positions at Nestlé, Actelion Pharmaceuticals, and Novartis Pharmaceuticals provided extensive experience in chemical safety, drug development, and the implementation of regulatory tests in cardiac electrophysiology. Manuel D. holds a Ph.D. in Pharmacology and Toxicology and a Bachelor in Veterinary Medicine from Universidad de Santiago de Compostela.
