Niku Ekhtiari, Ph.D. is currently working as a Senior Data Engineer at Jua.ai since February 2023. Prior to this, they worked as a Geospatial Software Engineer at Floodbase from September 2021 to January 2023. From May 2019 to September 2021, they held the position of Data Scientist at UP42, where they developed asynchronous microservices using FastAPI for geospatial workflows, developed geospatial processing algorithms using Python and Docker, and worked on deep learning models for Superresolution with satellite images using TensorFlow. Niku also developed and maintained an open source python package for measuring image similarity. Before joining UP42, Niku was a Climate Data Scientist at PIK - Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research. Niku completed their PhD in theoretical (computational) physics at Humboldt University of Berlin and PIK, where they worked with climate data and time series and applied novel data analysis approaches such as complex network analysis. Niku also worked as a researcher at PIK from November 2017 to February 2019.

Niku Ekhtiari, Ph.D. has an extensive education history in physics. Niku obtained their Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in Theoretical and Mathematical Physics from Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin, where they studied from 2015 to 2019. Prior to that, they completed their Master of Science (M.Sc.) degree in Physics at Sharif University of Technology, from 2011 to 2013.

Outside of their formal education, Niku Ekhtiari has also pursued additional certifications to enhance their skills. Niku completed the "Build Basic Generative Adversarial Networks (GANs)" course offered by Coursera in June 2021. In March 2019, they obtained the "Intermediate Python for Data Science Course" certification from DataCamp.
