Ricardo Piro-Rael

Ricardo Piro-Rael has a long history of work experience. From 2010 to 2014, they were the Owner/Partner of Computer Hut Los Lunas, where they managed all business responsibilities, sold items to customers, purchased items from customers, and repaired and refurbished computers. From 2014 to 2018, they were an Academic Affairs Application Developer and MOOC Tutor at the University of New Mexico, where they created a web application using Ruby on Rails to replace legacy SharePoint and physical paper processes when reviewing faculty for promotion and tenure, developed an application to store degree requirements in machine and human-readable form, and contributed to research and contracts by solving technical problems and clearing technical obstacles. From 2018 to 2020, they were an Applications Engineer at Hint Health, where they worked in an agile environment using modern agile processes and handled general engineering tasks including implementing new features, improving technical debt and fixing bugs. From 2022 to 2023, they were a Senior Software Engineer at Carta and Iron Ox, where they developed REST APIs to interact with robots to automate the farm and detailed communication between departments and testing all the way through to physical hardware. Since 2023, they have been a Senior Software Engineer at The June Care Company.

Ricardo Piro-Rael attended Los Lunas High School from 2005 to 2009, where they earned their High School Diploma in Computer Engineering. Ricardo then attended The University of New Mexico from 2009 to 2018, although they did not complete their degree in Computer Engineering. In April 2018, they obtained a Triplebyte certified Generalist Software Engineer certification from Triplebyte. Ricardo also holds a FuelMaster Customer Class certification from Syn-tech Systems, Inc.
