Pearl Zhu Zeng-Yoders has a diverse work experience. Pearl Zhu started their career in 2009 as a Host and Producer at the Radio Station of Beijing Forestry University, where they developed and managed a 20-minute bi-weekly interviewing radio show. In 2013, they participated in the Educating a Global Community Conference held by Michigan Alliance for Environmental and Outdoor Ed as a scholarship recipient. In 2014, they worked as a Docent for the Teaching and Inspiring Environmental Stewardship (TIES) program, a Climate Resilience Consultant for NOAA: National Oceanic & Atmospheric Administration, a Track Leader of Behavior, Education, and Communication for the School of Natural Resources and Environment, University of Michigan, and a Student Intern on Climate Change Adaptation for the Cooperative Institute for Limnology and Ecosystem Research. Pearl Zhu was also a University Delegate to the COP20, United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change. In 2014, they also joined WCBN FM as a Public Affairs Radio Host. In 2015, they worked at the University of Michigan as a Web Developer and Learning Platform & Communications Manager, Marketing and Communications Assistant, and Web Interface Designer for the grant on Michigan Sustainability Cases (MSC). In 2019, they worked as a Senior Software Engineer and Software Engineer at Sift, and as a Fellow at Hacker Fellows, where they were one of fifteen fellows chosen to participate in a year-long fellowship through Invest Detroit.

Pearl Zhu Zeng-Yoders obtained a Bachelor of Engineering in Environmental Engineering Technology/Environmental Technology from Beijing Forestry University between 2009 and 2013. Pearl Zhu then went on to receive a Master's Degree in Behavior, Education & Communication from the University of Michigan, School of Natural Resources and Environment between 2013 and 2015. Additionally, they have obtained certifications in Project Learning Tree - Pre K-8 Environmental Education Activity Guide, Project WET - Curriculum and Activity Guide 2.0, and Project WILD - K-12 Curriculum & Activity Guide, all obtained in February 2014.
