James Ayres has worked in a variety of roles in the engineering and legal fields. In 2019, they began working as an Engineer for Vanilla, an Adjunct Professor for NYU Tandon School of Engineering, and a Partner & Lead Engineer for General Daily Sunshine Industries. From 2016 to 2019, they were a Senior Web Engineer for Red Antler. From 2011 to 2014, they were an Adjunct Professor and Online Communications Coordinator for the University of Florida, College of Journalism and Communications, a Web Application Developer for The New School, a Legal Volunteer for the Harn Museum of Art, a Legal Extern for Alachua County Civil Court, and a Legal Intern for the New York State Insurance Department.
