Rick Cordeiro

Rick Cordeiro has a diverse work experience spanning over several years. Rick currently works as the Head of Broadcast Sales at JW Player since 2022. Before that, they founded Atmosphere - Cloud and Media Consulting in 2021.

Prior to their current roles, Rick held various positions at different companies. Rick worked at Brightcove from 2016 to 2021, where they served as the Director - Middle East and Africa, responsible for developing business markets, setting up distribution networks, and exploring new opportunities in the media industry. Rick also held the position of Senior Account Director - Media EMEA, overseeing the growth and development of major accounts across the Middle East, Africa, UK, and Ireland.

Earlier in their career, Rick worked at Imagine Communications as the Telco Key Account Manager and Head of Sales Engineering, focusing on expanding their EMEA Multiscreen Video Distribution market and being responsible for technical sales leadership. Rick was also involved in restructuring the go-to-market approach and training sales teams and channel networks.

Before joining Imagine Communications, Rick worked at Elemental Technologies as a Systems Engineer - EMEA, where they gained expertise in video encoding, streaming, codecs, head-end cost optimization, CDN operation, and project management.

Furthermore, Rick has experience as a Technical Product Manager at NOS Inovação and a Senior Consultant at Novabase Business Solutions. Rick also served as a Technical Project Manager, managing web, mobile apps, and IPTV solutions at Vodafone Portugal. Additionally, they worked as a Systems Integrator / Quality Assurance contractor at Altice Labs and as a Linux Network & Systems Administrator at Instituto de Telecomunicações.

Rick Cordeiro holds a Master's degree in Computer and Telematics Engineering from Universidade de Aveiro, which they obtained from 2002 to 2008. During the same period, they also received a Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Installation and Maintenance of Computer Networks and Systems from the same university. From 2009 to 2012, Rick pursued a degree in Management, specializing in Accounting, HR Management, and Project Management at ISCAL-Lisbon Accounting and Business School. In addition to their educational background, Rick has obtained several certifications, including ISTQB Advanced Level Test Manager and ISTQB Certified Tester - Foundation Level from ISTQB - International Software Testing Qualification Board, and a Certified Trainer certification from IEFP.
