Wendy Sessions

Wendy Sessions has a diverse work experience that spans several industries. Wendy is currently serving as a Senior Scrum Master at K1X, Inc. and is responsible for coaching and mentoring scrum masters and product owners. Additionally, they provide training and guidance on agile principles and serves as a scrum master for two engineering teams.

Prior to their current role, Wendy worked as a Business Partner at Lee Edward Publishing, where they started in 2017. Wendy also held the position of Senior Agile Program Manager at Finastra from 2022 to 2022, where they provided agile coaching for the ITPMO and Universal Banking Team and facilitated workflow through the setup of Azure Dev Ops boards and other tools.

From 2018 to 2022, Wendy worked at GCI Communication Corp. in various roles. As Senior Manager, IT Infrastructure, they coached and mentored scrum masters within IT-Enterprise Cloud Platform and trained new hires on agile delivery processes. Wendy also served as an Agile Coach & Scrum Master, leading the company's agile transformation and facilitating agile ceremonies.

Wendy also has extensive experience in volunteer leadership roles at the PMI Florida Suncoast Chapter. From 2013 to 2020, they served as President Emeritus/Volunteer Leadership Chair, Past President, and Program Manager, among other roles. In these positions, they provided mentorship, led strategic initiatives, and promoted engagement and collaboration among chapter leaders.

Earlier in their career, Wendy worked as an IT Product Development Senior Scrum Master at Western Governors University, driving the agile transformation and promoting knowledge of agile practices. Wendy also served as a Senior Project Manager at Bloomin' Brands, Inc., where they championed cultural change and guided multiple teams through new agile processes.

Wendy's work experience also includes a role as a Client Project Manager at Bally Technologies, where they managed onsite installations of systems and provided team leadership and client support. Wendy started their career at Humana as a Project Manager, managing projects for the Group Medicare Sales Team.

Wendy Sessions received their Bachelor's Degree in Psychology from the University of Florida between 1999 and 2002. In 2012 and 2013, they attended PMI, where they completed the Leadership Institute Master Class program in Organizational Leadership. Additionally, Wendy obtained several certifications, including the Certified Scrum Product Owner and Certified Scrum Master from the Scrum Alliance in September 2016 and April 2016 respectively. Wendy also received the PMI-Agile Certified Practitioner certification from the Project Management Institute in December 2014, and they became a Project Management Professional with the same institution in 2009.
