Sven's career also includes roles at Avigilon, Rogers Communications, and TELUS. At TELUS, Sven held various management positions, leading teams in financial planning, budgeting, and strategic projects.

Sven Tapp, CPA CMA, has a diverse education history that spans several institutions and fields of study. In 1998, they attended Nagoya University's Graduate School of International Development, where they pursued a Master's degree in Organizational Behaviour. After completing their Master's program in 2001, they furthered their education by enrolling at The University of British Columbia, where they earned a Bachelor of Commerce degree with a focus on Human Resources and Labour Relations in 1992.

In 2009, Sven pursued a career in Management Accounting, and they attended the Certified Management Accountants of British Columbia. Sven successfully completed the Certified Management Accountant (CMA) program in 2011 and received the Chartered Professional Accountant (Certified Management Accountant) (CPA, CMA) certification from the Chartered Professional Accountants of British Columbia in September 2011.

Sven's commitment to professional development continued throughout their career. In 2014, they obtained the Registered Retirement Consultant certification from the Canadian Institute of Financial Planning. Additionally, Sven demonstrated their linguistic abilities by successfully completing the Japanese Language Proficiency Test - Level 1 (N1), administered by Japan Educational Exchanges and Services / The Japan Foundation, in February 2005.

In recent years, Sven has focused on enhancing their skills in data analytics. From 2016 to 2018, they attended the British Columbia Institute of Technology, where they completed an Applied Data Analytics Certificate program. In 2018 and 2019, Sven participated in the Strategic Management Certificate Program offered by Chartered Professional Accountants of Canada (CPA Canada).
