Martin Karungi

Director Technology And Innovation at KaCyber Technologies

Martin Karungi has a diverse work experience, starting with their role as a Web Master at Strathmore University Foundation from 2011 to 2012. Martin then worked as an IT Intern at Uganda Communications Commission in 2014, where they were involved in internal network management and provided tech support. In 2013, they served as a Systems Developer at the Clinton Foundation, developing an e-health system and handling source code. Martin Karungi joined Bank of Uganda as an Information Systems Analyst in 2016 and later moved to National Information Technology Authority -Uganda (NITA-U) in 2017. At NITA-U, they held the position of a CERT Analyst, focusing on computer security incidents and developing cyber security advisories. Martin also served as a Project Manager in the Security Operations Center. In 2021, Martin Karungi co-founded Savannah Cyber, a company aimed at addressing increasing cyber threats. Currently, they hold the position of Director of Technology and Innovation at KaCyber Technologies.

Martin Karungi has completed a variety of education and certification programs. In 1999-2005, they attended City Parents School Kampala and obtained a Primary Certificate in General Studies. From 2013-2015, they pursued a Bachelor of Business Information Technology degree at Strathmore University. In 2023, they briefly studied Cybersecurity Risk Management at Harvard University. Additionally, they have obtained multiple certifications in areas such as cybersecurity, digital forensics, and database administration.
