Lars Kuhtz

Lars Kuhtz has a strong background in software engineering and research. Lars currently works as a Senior Software Engineer at Kadena LLC since 2018. Prior to that, Lars worked at Microsoft as a Senior Software Engineer from 2015 to 2018, where they were involved in the research and development of cloud services, cloud security, cloud storage, and distributed systems. Lars also worked at PivotCloud, Inc. as a Staff Software Engineer from 2012 to 2015, focusing on cloud services for cryptographic enforcement of distributed access control policy. Lars started their career at Microsoft in 2011 as a Software Developer, specializing in data-centric security and compliance for cloud computing. Before joining the industry, Lars worked as a Researcher at Saarland University from 2004 to 2010, where they collaborated with industrial and academic partners and implemented research results into software tools. Additionally, they worked as a Contract Software Developer at ExactCODE GmbH in 2007, developing a bar code recognition framework. Lars started their career as a Graduate Student Research Assistant at Humboldt University Berlin in 1999.

Lars Kuhtz has a diverse education history. Lars started their academic journey in 1995 at Augustana-Hochschule Neuendettelsau, where they obtained a Vordiplom degree in Theology by 1997. Lars then enrolled at Universidad Centroamericana in El Salvador for a year, studying Theology. In 1998, they attended Ruhr University Bochum, but it is unclear whether they earned a degree from it. Continuing their pursuit of knowledge, Lars joined Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin in 1999 and completed a Diplom (Master's degree) in Computer Science in 2004. Finally, they earned their highest academic achievement, a Dr. rer. nat. (PhD) in Computer Science, from Universität des Saarlandes in 2010.
