Rob Christie has a diverse work experience in various roles and companies. Rob is currently working at Kajabi as a Staff Engineer since January 2023. Prior to that, they served as a Senior Production Engineer at Kajabi from October 2020 to December 2022.
Before joining Kajabi, Rob worked at Invesco US as a Lead Solutions Technologist from May 2019 to October 2020. Their main responsibilities included supporting the migration of OppenheimerFunds rails-based sites to Invesco and launching the account-servicing application to provide better experience for advisors.
Rob also had a significant tenure at OppenheimerFunds. Rob worked as a Senior Rails Developer, Tech Lead, and Architect from December 2016 to May 2019. During this time, they migrated multiple Ruby and Java applications from internal, on-premise servers to AWS. Rob was also involved in updating applications to newer versions of Ruby and Rails and ensuring their 12-Factor compliance. Prior to that, they worked as a Senior Rails Developer (Consultant) from January 2015 to December 2016.
In addition to their work at OppenheimerFunds, Rob operated as the Owner of Christie Consulting from January 2015 to December 2016. Rob served as a contractor for clients such as OppenheimerFunds and Eye Street Solutions, where they collaborated with teams of developers and implemented responsive versions of websites.
Before Christie Consulting, Rob worked at Eye Street Solutions from January 2011 to January 2015. Rob assumed the role of Manager - Web & Mobile Application Engineering and also took on more responsibilities in bid and proposal preparation. Notable projects during this period include implementing a new digital asset management system for FEMA.gov and developing a web-and-mobile phone-based product called MobileDiscovery.
Earlier in their career, Rob was a Partner at Kart Media, LLC, where they helped launch and grow Fitfreak.net, an online Honda Fit forum and enthusiast site, from June 2005 to May 2008. Rob also held the position of Director of Engineering at Simply Wireless from April 2002 to January 2004 and worked as a Senior Software Engineer at Reliacast from May 2000 to April 2002.
Rob started their professional journey in the US Navy/Naval Reactors as a Lieutenant, Electrical Engineer from August 1995 to May 2000.
Rob Christie attended the University of Virginia from 1989 to 1994, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering. Rob then pursued further education at the same institution from 1994 to 1995, earning a Master of Science degree in Computer Science. In addition to their academic qualifications, Rob also obtained certifications from Amazon Web Services (AWS) in April 2020, including AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Associate and AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner.
