Ben Garvey-Cubbon has a strong background in user research and has held various roles in this field. Ben started their career at the Office for National Statistics in 2013 as a User Researcher, where they worked on digital product design and development projects, including leading research on the Electronic Questionnaire project. In 2016, they became a Senior User Researcher at the Ben'sMajesty's Courts and Tribunals Service (HMCTS), where they continued to conduct research and contribute to user-centered design. Ben then served as the Head of User Research (Interim) at HMCTS from September 2017 to January 2018. In 2018, they joined OVO Energy as the User Research Practice Lead, where they played a key role in shaping the company's user research practices. Currently, they are working at Kaluza, where they started as the User Research Lead in August 2020 and was promoted to the position of Head of User Research in July 2021.
Ben Garvey-Cubbon obtained a Master of Science (MSc) degree in Investigative and Forensic Psychology from the University of Liverpool in 2012-2013. Prior to that, they earned a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Psychology and Criminology from Liverpool John Moores University in 2009-2012. In 2018, they obtained a certification in "Digital Accessibility: Enabling Participation in the Information Society" from FutureLearn.
