John Cooper

John Cooper has extensive work experience in the pharmaceutical industry. John is currently serving as the Vice President CMC at KalVista Pharmaceuticals, Inc. since May 2022. Prior to this role, they were a Senior Director, CMC at the same company from July 2019 to April 2022. Before joining KalVista Pharmaceuticals, they worked as a Site Leader, Pharmaceutics & Process Technology at Thermofisher Scientific from February 2018 to June 2019, and as a Director, Pharmaceutics & Process Technology at Patheon during the same period. John Cooper also held positions at Circassia as an Associate Director, Pharmaceutical Sciences from September 2015 to February 2018, and at Circassia Ltd where they served as the Head of Formulation Development & Product Manufacture from September 2013 to August 2015, and as a CMC Development Manager from June 2011 to August 2013. Prior to that, they worked at Pfizer as an Analytical and Formulations Lead from September 2008 to May 2011, at UCB Pharma as a Senior Principal Scientist from August 2004 to July 2008, at Celltech as a Principal Scientist from 1999 to 2004, at Chiroscience as a Senior Scientist from 1994 to 1999, and at Scherer DDS as a Scientist from 1991 to 1994. John Cooper has expertise in various areas including CMC development, formulation development, manufacturing, regulatory CMC documentation, and technical project management.

John Cooper completed their undergraduate education at the University of Strathclyde from 1985 to 1990, where they earned a Bachelor of Science degree with honors in Chemistry. John then pursued further education at Anglia Ruskin University between 1995 and 1998, obtaining a Master of Science degree in Analytical Chemistry.
