Clement Ooi

President, Asia Pacific Operations at Kamakura

Clement Ooi oversees business strategies, business development, business operations, and support across the Asia Pacific region for Kamakura Corporation.

Prior to transitioning to Kamakura Corporation, Clement was Vice President and Managing Director of Asia Pacific Operations for Fiserv Risk & Compliance for over 12 years and where he was responsible for building a strong consulting practice, including managing client relationships, and building a strong team of professionals. He oversaw all client consulting projects in the Asia pacific region. He setup business operations and offices for Fiserv in China, Taiwan, Sri Lanka, Vietnam, and Philippines.

Clement was Director of Singapore Operations from 2000-2002. He moved to Singapore in 1994 and worked as a senior consultant. He was responsible for implementing Asset/Liability Management (A/LM), Funds Transfer Pricing and Treasury systems throughout Asia Pacific and Africa. He also performed various financial risk management consulting engagements for financial institutions, and conducted workshops, in-house and regional training and education on A/LM. He authored and co-authored the seminal articles “Demystifying the Myth of Gap Management” and “A Best Practice Approach to Modelling Sovereign Defaults” respectively.

Prior to joining Fiserv in 1996, Clement worked in California U.S.A. for six years. He started his career as a staff accountant for a third largest US healthcare insurance organization. He later worked for five years for an American savings bank in Los Angeles. His responsibilities included daily investment of the Bank’s funds and asset/liability using Fiserv’s risk model.

Clement holds a doctoral degree in business administration and management (DBA) from the University of South Australia.
