Eric Nickelsen

Eric Nickelsen graduated from Pensacola Catholic High School, Florida in 1962 and from St. Bernard College, Alabama in 1966 with a BA in Business Administration [Minor Economics]. He was first employed by Citizens & Peoples National Bank of Pensacola in 1966 rising to the position of Chairman, President and CEO in 1997 as only the 4th President of the 100-year old institution.

Upon the C&P sale he was appointed President and COO of Bank South of Pensacola, Inc. and promoted to Chairman, President and CEO in 1992. After a second merger in 1993, he was appointed Chairman of Barnett Bank of West Florida, part of the $42 billion Barnett Banks, Inc. conglomerate. From 1994 he served as the Chairman, President and CEO until the merger with Nations Bank in 1998.

Currently he is a real estate developer and part owner of John S. Carr & Company, Inc. as well as being a partner or officer on a number of corporations and partnerships that develop and sell real estate in Northwest Florida and Southern Alabama.
