Melissa Cooper serves as the Director of Aviation for the Kansas City Aviation Department since January 2021, following a previous role as Deputy Director of Properties and Commercial Development within the same department. Prior to this, Melissa held the position of Manager at Kansas City Downtown Airport (MKC) from March 2016 to March 2022. Melissa holds a Master of Science in Aviation/Airway Management and Operations, obtained from the University of Central Missouri between 2003 and 2006, and a Bachelor of Science in the same field from the same institution, completed from 1994 to 1997.
