Brian Dorn

Brian Dorn is an experienced marine biologist with a robust background in animal care and husbandry. Currently serving as the Director of Animal Care at the Kansas City Zoo & Aquarium since October 2021, Brian has previously held leadership roles at the North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher and the North Carolina Aquarium on Roanoke Island, overseeing operations and husbandry from 2006 to 2021. Brian's career began as an Assistant Curator at the Albuquerque Aquarium and includes significant contributions at Walt Disney World's The Living Seas as a Senior Aquarist. Notably, Brian participated in the Exxon Valdez oil spill cleanup as a marine biologist with the Environmental Protection Agency, where responsibilities included monitoring aquatic organism recovery on oiled beaches. Brian holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Marine Biology from the University of West Florida.
