Charles Shuman

Charles (Randy) Shuman is a seasoned executive with extensive experience in student finance, collections, and default management. Currently serving as Vice President of Institutional and Student Account Management at Kaplan North America since July 2023, Shuman oversees invoicing, collections, and business operations support for institutional and student accounts, in addition to managing Student Loan Advisement Services. Prior roles include Executive Director at Kaplan Higher Education, Vice President of Student Financial Operations at the University of Phoenix, and Vice President of External Collections at HSBC Card and Retail Services. Shuman’s accomplishments include designing and implementing successful collections strategies that significantly improved collection rates. Educational credentials include a BS in Finance and Management from Virginia Tech and an MBA from the University of Richmond.
