Nate Jones

Investment & Ecosystem Building Associate at Kapor Center for Social Impact

Nate Jones is the Investment and Ecosystem Building Associate for the Foundation. He supports both new efforts within the Kapor Center to build diversity in the venture ecosystem and the broader investment team on investment diligence for the Foundation’s endowment.

Nate brings previous experience as an ecosystem builder, program manager and impact investing professional. Most recently Nate was as a Consultant for HBCUvc helping to manage the Emerging Venture Leaders group, Project Manager at Surf Capital supporting an opportunity zone investing initiative alongside Purpose Built Communities and a Kapor Capital Summer Associate (Summer 2018).

Nate began his career as a community organizer and co-founder of Village Micro Fund (VMF), a social enterprise with the mission to harness the power of local communities to drive economic growth in minority communities in Atlanta. During his tenure, he created and led partnerships with civic, philanthropic and local community stakeholders to increase access to customers and capital as well as VMF’s first investments. Nate has been featured in NPR and the Bitter Southerner.

Nate holds a Bachelors in Economics from Morehouse College and a Masters in Business Administration from the McCombs School of Business at The University of Texas, Austin.
