Pete Rast

Pete Rast has had a long and varied career in software engineering. In 2020, they began working at Kapta Inc as a Senior Software Engineer, where they were responsible for working in all aspects of a Microsoft ASP. NET full-stack environment for a SaaS product. This included front and back end development, design, testing, deployment, and code management. In 2019, they began working at Misty Robotics as a Senior Software Engineer, where they completed user stories in a variety of environments, including C, C#, Java/Android, Xamarin, JavaScript, and HTML. In 2016, they began working at Lingoport as a Senior Software Engineer, where they helped internationalize the eVetPractice software package owned by Henry Schein Animal Health. In 2000, they founded Avarin Systems Inc and worked as a Consultant, where they were responsible for full stack development of an ASP. NET MVC financial services website. Finally, in 1994, they co-founded New Century Software and worked as a Consultant, helping to design, build, and support a C-based software package enabling brokerage firms to electronically distribute daily customer statements.

Pete Rast is currently enrolled at Valparaiso University, where they are studying Psychology and Philosophy.
