John Hammer

John Hammer is the current President of ADESA at KAR Auction Services. John has held this position since June of 2016. Prior to their current role, John served as the Chief Executive Officer and President of Automotive Finance Corp. at KAR Global from May of 2009 to June of 2016.

Before joining KAR Global, John spent 10 years at Ally (formerly GMAC) where they served as Executive Vice President. In this role, they launched and led two captive finance startups, Saab Financial Services and American Suzuki Financial Services. John also oversaw strategic leadership, growth and portfolio management of retail finance and lease receivables that exceeded $1 billion.

John has also held positions at AutoNation and Mercedes-Benz Financial Services USA LLC. John served as General Manager at AutoNation from May of 1996 to May of 1999 and as Manager of Dealer Marketing at Mercedes-Benz Financial Services USA LLC from August of 1992 to May of 1996.

John Hammer earned a BSBA in finance from the College of Business Administration at Tennessee Technological University.
