Nir Salman Attia

Nir Salman Attia has extensive experience in the field of cybersecurity and information security. Nir is currently working as an Automotive Cyber Security Researcher at Karamba Security, where they conduct cyber security research and specializes in threat analysis, risk assessment, and penetration testing. Prior to this, they worked at 2B Secure as a Cyber Security Specialist, focusing on information and cyber security compliance. Nir was responsible for conducting infrastructure penetration testing and creating red team testing assessments.

Nir also has experience in the government sector, where they served as the Director of Cyber Security for the Israeli government. In this role, they were responsible for implementing information security policies, managing security operations, and leading incident response and threat hunting activities.

Before joining the government, Nir worked as a Cyber Security Project Manager & Research Leader at Ben Gurion University of the Negev, where they managed cybersecurity projects and led research initiatives. Nir also has experience in product management and pre-sale engineering, having worked at AppDynamics as a Product Manager and Pre-Sale Engineer. During their time at AppDynamics, they introduced multiple software development life cycle tools and achieved significant sales success.

Nir's earlier experience includes roles as a Professional Services Engineer and a Microsoft Solution Engineer at YouCC Technologies Ltd., where they developed technological extensions for MS Lync and SharePoint and designed solutions for various technical challenges. Nir also has experience as a Product Manager Intern at Prim'Vision, where they launched a new product and managed its life cycle.

Before entering the private sector, Nir served as a Cyber Security Manager in the Israeli Air Force, where they gained foundational experience in security supervision.

Nir Salman Attia attained a Master of Science degree in Strategic Management from EDHEC Business School from 2008 to 2010.

Nir then pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science at The Hebrew University of Jerusalem from 2003 to 2007.

Prior to that, they completed their Graduate degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, and Physics from ORT Engineering School between 1995 and 1999.

Later, in 2017 to 2018, Nir attended Technion - Israel Institute of Technology to obtain the Technion Certified CISO qualification in the field of Computer and Information Systems Security/Information Assurance.

Additionally, Nir has gained several certifications throughout their career. In June 2021, they achieved the certification in Hacking and Securing Windows Infrastructure from CQURE Academy. Nir became a Certified Information Security Manager® (CISM) in February 2018, certified by ISACA. Moreover, they obtained the Technion Certified CISO certification in December 2017 from Technion - Israel Institute of Technology. In October 2013, Nir also completed the AppDynamics Sales Engineer certification offered by AppDynamics.
