Nicholas Noll

Staff Computational Biologist

Nicholas Noll is a highly experienced computational biologist currently serving as a Staff Computational Biologist at Karius since April 2022, following a role as Senior Computational Biologist. Prior to this, Noll was a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the Kavli Institute for Theoretical Physics from October 2020 to April 2022, where the primary research involved understanding how cells in developing embryos encode spatial information. Noll's work at the Biozentrum, University of Basel from October 2017 to September 2020 as a Postdoctoral Scientist included creating a hybrid genome assembly pipeline to analyze structural diversity in Carbapenem-resistant bacteria. Noll obtained a PhD in Physics from UC Santa Barbara under the supervision of Boris Shraiman, with research focused on Morphogenesis, and also holds Bachelor's degrees in Electrical and Electronics Engineering and Physics from the University of Washington.
